My name is Viktor and I have several roles at the company, including Sound Design and music composing, Quality Assurance (game testing), managing releases, and managing our workflow and planning meetings.
What’s the best thing about working at Kavalri Games?
For me it's definitely the people that I work with. We are great collaborators, and everyones' ideas are welcome and valued.
What about your job do you like the most?
Goes pretty hand-in-hand with the previous question. When I get to talk and discuss with my colleagues about where we should take game. The creative process behind these sort of decisions are one of - at least - my biggest motivators.
What's your favorite gaming memory?
I have many, but the one that comes to mind is playing Ocarina of Time with my dad sitting next to me, translating all the dialog and trying to figure out where to go. It was how I started to learn english as a kid.
How did you get into games?
I think it was my sister who had a Nintendo 64 when I was very young. I remember playing Mario 64 with her.
If you were a character in an RPG, what would be your main positive vs. negative trait?
Good: Pets. I have 2 parrots and a dog. Beat that! Bad: Agility. I'm quite clumsy.
If you were given a billboard for many people to see, what message would you put on it?
Drink water.
Do you have a weird and unexpected hobby?
I like watching very long and detailed analysis videos on youtube about movies or video games. I don't even have to have watched the thing they're talking about.
What advice would you give yourself ten years ago?
Don't overthink. Lean in to something and see where it takes you.
What book would you give to everyone if you could?
Name of the Wind. Best fantasy book out there.
What's the weirdest thing you believe to be true?
I don't believe in the moon, I think it's just the backside of the sun. (If one person understands that reference, I'm happy.)
Best purchase of 100$ or less?
An alarm clock. No phones in bed!
Do you remember the time you laughed the hardest?
I don't remember the hardest laugh, but the last time I laughed until I cried was when watching a standup from Comedian Shane Gillis. Hilarious.
